About the Project
In an ongoing effort to provide quality wireless service, Verizon Wireless has identified your community as one that will benefit from improved network coverage.
Milestone Towers is proposing a wireless telecommunications facility at Bull Run Marina Commuter Lot, addressed 12619 Old Yates Ford Road
Clifton, VA 20124.
The proposal is for a 145-foot monopole and will include ground equipment required to operate the facility. This equipment will be located at the base of the structure in a secure fenced area. Verizon Wireless will be the first wireless carrier to locate on the proposed tower.
Update #5: The Milestone project was approved by both the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors.
Update #4: The Milestone Towers project will go before the Planning Commission November 13th and the Board of Supervisors November 19th.

Update #2: Based on the current weather forecast, we will move forward with the balloon fly as scheduled on Saturday, August 3rd from 8:00 to 12:00 pm.
Update #1: There are two upcoming community event:
Community Balloon Fly: On Saturday, August 3rd from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm a balloon will be flown at the proposed location and height to provide a visual reference for the tower.
Due to heavy forestation and limited public vantage points, Milestone is offering to take photos on private property the day of the balloon fly. If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please contact Renée Frustaci at 410-299-4364 or sitelink@miiestonetowers.com
(In case of bad weather the balloon fly will be rescheduled for Sunday, August 4th from 8:00 to 12:00 pm. The decision will be made based on the weather forecast and posted here on the Home Page by 6 pm night before.)
Online Town Hall: On Tuesday, August 13th @ 6:00 pm we will hold an online Town Hall webinar consisting of a short presentation followed by a question and answer time. Registration is required and can be completed on the Town Hall page.
Our Process
1. Due Diligence
Survey, FAA, FCC, NEPA, Phase 1, Geotechnical Analysis.
2. Land Use
Special Exception Permit Application, Community Meeting, Staff Review, Planning Commission, Board of Supervisors.
3. Permitting
Conduct Bid Walk With Contractors, submit Site Plan and Building permit applications.
4. Construction
Tower construction = 4-6 weeks | Carrier construction = 4-6 weeks on average
On-site supervision by Construction Manager
5. Site Maintenance
Four visits per year for site maintenance | Remove trash, debris, check signage.
2-4 visits per year for carrier modifications.
